Two students of Pandit Dindayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, allegedly involved in an eve-teasing incident in the campus, have been debarred from appearing for one semester examination. They will also be not given the pick and drop facility for six months.
According to sources the students Kush Patel and Kashyap Patel allegedly teased three girl students on the campus. They also used vulgar language against the trio. Sources said that the students had been harassing the girls for some time now.
Tired of the constant harassment the girls complained to the concerned authorities. Sources said that a grievance committee looked into the matter and found the two students guilty.
Sources said that the two students were then debarred from appearing for the first semester exam and making use of the pick and drop facility. The accused students have decided to appeal to the higher authorities against the decision.
The varsity's registrar N Sunder Ram refused to comment on the incident. He, however, admitted that such an incident had taken place on the campus some days ago. Director general of PDPU Kartik Kullar was not available for comments.
